In 1972 she graduated from the Tbilisi State Academy of Arts.
A member of the International Feltmakers Association (IFA)
A member of the Artists’ Union of Georgia
In 1975 T. Gelashvili revived and developed then sunk into oblivion ancient tradition of Caucasian felt.
For the period 1973-2010 she permanently participated in republican, all-USSR and international exhibitions.
She was awarded for contribution in art and strengthening of friendly and cultural ties between nations.
T. Gelashvili is a member of international symposiums and conferences of applied and decorative arts.
She is the author of eight personal exhibitions of art felt and ceramics in various cities of Europe and Asia.

In 1977 – 1987 T. Gelashvili worked as a furniture designer at the Construction Bureau of the Furniture Design Institute of the Ministry of Timber and Wood-Processing Industry.
In 1987-1992 she was engaged in design of interiors of restaurants, cafes and Black Sea boarding houses.
T. Gelashvili is the author of the project “For Maintenance and Development of National Handicrafts in Mountainous Regions of Georgia” in 2002.
She has a wide range of artistic interests! Additionally to art felt and ceramics she works in graphics, painting, small-scale sculpture and writes poetry.
Works of T. Gelashvili are kept in museums and private collections in Georgia, Great Britain, Italy, Russia, USA, Finland, Azerbaijan, Latvia, Israel, Turkey, etc.
Nowadays she is engaged in teaching activity and directs a creative group of young artists “Studio-XG”.
